How do I make my pointe shoes last longer?

What are the best ways to extend the life of pointe shoes?

I dance 6 days a week for 3-7 or 8 hours a day, and I tend to go through a pair a week [or one pair for 2 or 3 performances when performing]. I’ve tried jet glue and alternating shoes, but those have not helped much. Any suggestions?

Can I be a professional ballerina?

Hi,

I started ballet when I was either 3 or 4. I quit when I was 10 or 11. I am now almost 17 and deeply want to make it professional.

Other than my age, I am also somewhere around 5′9″ not on pointe, and 145 lbs.

There is also one other thing, I do not want to do contemporary dance, I am only interested in classical ballet.

Is there just too many restrictions for me to make it professional???

Investing in The Ballet Bible

Hi!
I began dance when I was 3 in a creative movement class. A year ago I was on pointe and in the second highest level at the school. Then, I changed to a professional training studio where they made me start all over and took me off pointe. I work very hard at every class, but I feel like I am unnoticed. I have moved up a level, but I am still not where I would like to be. Should I invest in the Ballet Bible? It looks like it would help me improve a ton. What are your thoughts? Thank you.

The Ballet Bible Launch was a Huge Success

Thankyou to everyone for their support and encouragement to help me get this 2nd edition package up and running. I have received so much great feedback over the last few days.

Here is an email I just received. Hearing back comments like this make it all worthwhile.

Hi Anita.

The ballet bible is one of the best things that could possibly happen to me right now. I am 18 and I only just recently re-started ballet at the intermmediate foundation level and I am now on christmas holidays. My ballet teacher wants me to go through to advanced 1 straight away next year as it was not hard for me to re-train my body and re-learn everything I was taught many years ago (even though i never even got as far as i am now). So I bought the ballet bible in hopes that it’ll give me a head start for next year. I think that already I have improved an unbelievable amount in such a short time, this whole package has by far exceeded my expectations. This bible has given me a lot more confidence for next year and now I am finally starting to remember all the terms and how to pronounce the words. I think that the videos are extremely helpful and I watch them every day before I try it myself and it helps me to remember the small things rather than just doing the movements.

Thank you so so so much,
Ashley

The Ballet Bible is Ready For Launch

Well, it’s official. If everything goes to plan, I will be launching The new Ballet Bible Package this Wednesday 13th December, 12:00 midday, Australian Time. That’s GMT+10. I figure since the United States (depending where you live) are between 15-21 hours behind that should be a reasonable time to launch.

Talk to you soon.

Thanks
Anita

Affiliate Program

Hello,

I am wondering if you are going to offer an affilate program. My daughter is a professional ballet dancer and I am interesting in educating and promoting Ballet. There are so many questions dancers have, and most people are very uneducated on what really goes on in ballet. My daughter in now 21 and she started ballet when she was 2. And I am very interesting in helping support the arts. I hope you will think about offering an affiliate program. You have very good information in your guide.

Destined for professional Ballet

Hi, I’m 12 and I’ve been doing ballet for about 6 months and jazz since I was five. I love ballet though I have the dancer gene natural musicality. I want to go professional but I dont think my mum wants me to be a dancer. I know I could. I’m not bragging but i look good when i dance. I train once a week for half an hour in grade two. My dance school doesnt offer professional training so I’d have to leave my studio if i wanted to get good but its quite exspensive at other places. If i stayed at my studio i would go on pointe at 16. Is that to late to go proffessional?

I’ve got quite strong feet. I can stand on pointe in socks what should i do please help !!!!!!!!!!
