Discover the Secrets to Conquering Some of The Most Common Pitfalls You Face When Learning Ballet
Advancing to the next levelhey guys, I really want to go to the advanced class (the next level up) but i’m NO WHERE near ready. (at least i dont think.) The only thing I think im good at is balancing for a long time and turns. To get to the next level I need to have ALL my splits, a 90 degree+ arabesque, and good pointe work. (at least for ballet) most of these I dont have. I’m mostly concerned about my splits. I have been in this “pre-advanced” class for almost 3 years and I want to move on. I can TOTALLY take on the jazz and MAYBE modern class but ballet is kinda if-ish. I need to improve. we are having manditory summer classes and I want to do something before them because they are later in the summer and are only a few weeks long. My teacher doesnt ALWAYS notice me and sometimes I try REALLY hard but still nothing. She’s nice and all and most of the students seem to like her alot but I’m kinda like “she’s ok….”. I want to impress my teacher and move on the the next level by the end of the summer. what should I do? dancinchk101 April 16, 2007 | In Questions | 5 CommentsHow to strengthen my body for ballethey. I am 14 and have been doing ballet and other styles of dancing for over 10 years now. My teacher has mentioned, and I have really started to notice recently, that my technique and everything is quite good, but I dont seem to be able to do the steps well enough as I haven’t got enough all round strength. She is not worried about it as she says it will come in time, but for the moment, is there anything I can work on or buy (not too expensive please) that can help me at the moment. It needs to be for everywhere (especially legs eg inner thighs). any good exercises etc????? thanku April 15, 2007 | In Questions | 3 CommentsPointe PleaseI really want to start pointe but I don’t know when is a good time to start. What are some good excercises/products that can strengthen my ankles? April 12, 2007 | In Questions | 2 CommentsI just want an honest opinionif you go on to www.youtube.com and search for ‘hollyclairec’ , it will bring a video of me up ! Training for ‘late starters’As the title says, I am a late starter (well, kind of… It is a bit complicated…) and I am looking for a place (preferably in Europe) where I could train to become pro. I do realise that my chances of becoming a ballerina are *quite* small but I still want to train as much as possible because I can’t live without ballet… Basically I am looking for a private teacher or a school that would accept me even though I am nowhere near most girls my age (I just turned 18 ) but would still give me an excellent training. I find that sometimes it’s all or nothing, you are either excellent and have always danced or you are not taken seriously and can only take 1 or 2 classes a week… So please help me, tell me if you know anyone who could help me, or if you’ve heard of websites where I could find information etc… Thanks! April 11, 2007 | In Questions | 1 CommentWhat do you find easier?Hi, The forum has been up for a little while now. I’m interested to know what you find easier for communicating with members and asking questions. I have noticed that a lot of members have been going back to older posts on the blog and commenting on them rather than posting on the forum. So tell me, do you find the blog easier to use or do you like the new forum? Thanks My right foot is stronger than my leftHi I have just started pointe and I have realised that my right foot is stronger than my left foot.
