Skye

Hi, I have just started ballet at the ripe old age of 27. I used to do it when I was about five, but decided to quit when they wanted to put me up a level because I was too scared to go on stage. I have always regretted it though, so I am really excited that I have now found a beginners adult class with really nice girls and teacher.
I am married with two gorgeous little boys, aged 3 and 1, I am also studying Criminology part time, and I volunteer for an organisation called Fauna Resue, rescuing and rehabilitating injured wildlife.
Well, thats about it. I originally found this website while looking for tips on how to improve my pirouette (which is shocking), so I look forward to getting more great info from all of you with more experience.
P.S. Sorry, this is the only pic I have on my computer, it doesnt really show much.

That’s me in the middle doing my Zoolander face

I’m 17 and have been ballet-ing for 3 months. I belly dance, too, but have been doing that longer. It’s nice to talk to other late-starters like me and the already experienced. I love ballet! It is a natural talent for me and I will keep it with me my whole life — even if I don’t go pro. :)

I’m from small town Georgia, But love the city. I’m a dog person — even though I have a cat (of course along with my 2 dogs other cat, and 3 birds) and even though I work at a vet and deal with all animals. Small towns, man — we like our animals. Actually, by law, we are allowed 2 goats and a pig on our property. heehee.

In the future I plan to be an actor. I decided that at age 4 and have been acting (on stage) ever since. Maybe I could dance in a movie some day! lol.

Oh, and I recommend “the string Quartet” playing coldplay’s Yellow (and their other songs) for any ballerina — nay, human being — out there!

nice chatting with ya’ll :)

currently I’m teaching at a studio near the university I’m going to, I’m a pre-med student.

in the future I hope to go to medical school and become a pediatrician. I also plan to continue teaching ballet.

Audrey Elise

Audrey Elise

My name is Audrey Elise Underhill, and I go by both first names. I live in Boulder, Colorado, and dance at the Boulder Ballet Academy. I’m 16 years old and have been dancing since I was 10. I would love to do ballet professionally.

At school, I do well in languages. I placed second in Colorado and 9th in the nation in the National French Exam last year, and I take Arabic at the university in my town.

In ballet, my strengths are adage and turns. My weaknesses are petit allegro and pointe- I have horrible feet and very little point. I’m working on both though!

Outside of ballet and school, I don’t do very much because I don’t have much extra time. I dance every day of the work week for anywhere between an hour and a quarter to two and a half hours. Right now I’m dancing on the weekends too because of Nutcracker.

When I go to college, I’d like to go somewhere on the East coast with good Arabic and French programs, as well as ballet of course. I’m looking to major in ballet specifically, not just dance, because I know that if I were to major in dance in general I’d have to take other dance classes as well as ballet. I’ve tried all kinds of dance- jazz, modern, hip hop, Irish step, and others- but ballet is the only one I enjoy.

This is a great site and I’d like to thank everyone who keeps it up and running! You do a great job, and it’s so useful!

Have a good day, everyone, and keep dancing.
