My name is Kaat Everaerts, I’m 28 years old and I live in Belgium. I studied clinical psychology and am now working as a student
councellor at a college (half of the time) and as a social worker (family councelling) in the special youth services the other half of
the time.

My professional interests are mainly animal and equine assisted interventions and activities (AAI) and the systems approach. My hobbies are reading and spending time with my horses and friends, and ballet, of course.

I recently started dancing again after dropping out for a period of 20 years. I danced for a year or two when I was in elementary school.

  1. So you do the thing where kids ride horses or play with dogs or whatever to help get over shyness or withdrawal-type things like autism or whatever?

    That’s very respectable, that’s a cool thing to do, I hope I can do something like that, though obviously would be somewhat lacking in qualifications, having a nice tiny cute tame pet would generally do the job.

  2. Yes, the animal assisted work is the kind you describe, but more the ‘playing with and taking care’ of the horses than actual riding.
    And it’s something I hope to be able to do in the future, at the moment it’s office councelling as regular.
    It’s a money thing, really…
