If you want to be a pro 6 to 7 hours a week would be best. if you can do more then try to maybe to 7 or 8 but don't do many hours because you don't want to hurt yourself.

It depends on whether you are doing it for fun or more than that? If it is serious then probably about 4-5 classes a week and practice at home as well of course. if it just for fun then it is up to you! You can do as many or as little hours as you want!!!

I'm 13, and i do 20+ hours a week! But thats because i go to a school that i do dance half the day. But you do have to have a big commitment .. it depends on how much you want it! If you have other things in your life (Spot ect.) and you just want to do dance for fun, then you dont have to do, over 4. But if you wanna go high .. Then do as many as you can!!! Dylan :)

I am 13, and I have a HUGE commitment to my ballet dancing. I take 2 classes on weekdays to stretch and rehearse dances, both classes 3 hours each, and one class every saturday to stretch and build up my muscles.(for details on good stretches go to www.freewebs.com/primaballerinas)my saturday class is usually one to oneand a half hours long. In total thats seven to seven and a half hours a week.

I feel like you're asking because you are looking for a professional career. If this is not the case, then see Audrey's comment. However, if you are very serious I know that students at the School of American Ballet put in over 11 hours a week at your age, but other serious students need more (to make up for earilier years) or less (if they want to build artistry by diversifying, strength by cross-training, or simply avoid burnout). Whatever the case, I recommend doing what feels right.

It all depends on what kind of commitment you're willing to make, and how far you want to go with it. If you just do ballet on the side of school, sports, and whatever else you do and aren't interested in pursuing it as a career, a couple classes a week should be fine. However, if you're at a competitive studio, would like to try to do ballet professionally, or love ballet enough to be willing to put it ahead of everything else, do as many hours a week as you can do. There's not just one amount of hours that 13-15 year olds should do.
