Ballet Music at home

Hi,

I was just wondering which music (CDs) you guys use when practicing at home?
There are so many CDs available and this newbie gets a bit lost out there.

Thanks and merry christmas and happy new year to everyone.

  1. I reccomend just getting one of the class cd’s that has barre music, centre, and across the floor. There are plenty out there and you can usually find them at a place that sells dancewear. good luck.

  2. My teacher uses two cds by Nigel Gaynor, one is called Sensation and the other is called Nations. They are sorted by types of exercises. We also once used one by Lisa Harris called Tendu. Each piece is on that cd twice in order, so you can repeat each exercise on the other side.

  3. No luck at the shop where I buy dancewear, so I guess I’ll have to buy online somewhere. Any tips on sites or specific CDs?

    Thanks for the tip anyway.

  5. I have loads, I have one of classical ballet music from an assortment of traditional ballets (The nutcracker, swan lake, coppelia and a few others) I think that one is called ‘ballet classics’ and then for each grade I take my techer copies the music to make a CD so we can practise at home, you can usually buy these cd’s fron the exam boards websitses too.
