I am having some of the same problems. I am 27, and while there are a few schools in my area (although I would have to drive 30-45 minutes) that do offer adult classes, because I have previous dance experience I am above the Adult Begginners but not good enought for the Level Two. I guess that is not really answering your question though. My suggestion is to start with the high school class and if you are not getting enough attention, ask for private classes 2x a week. Also, check with the nearest large city's Dance Company- a lot of times they offer Adult Beginners classes. I took those to tone up after my first child was born before I had to go back to work. Now I am trying to find another program, but I have relocated and am finding it difficult.

I can only tell you that Ballet has helped me in coordinating my body a lot. I have started with Ballet when I was 42 and do not want to miss it in my live any more. My answer is a clear YES!
