Whatever you do, don't take clogging. Have some pride. Just jump in with the teenagers. You can do it. It would be just as hard starting in an adult ballet class as it will be starting with teenagers. I took pointe with teenagers when I was thirty. You'll be better than them in a way because you have more adult mannerisms, like better listening skills. You'll be fine. Just do it.

Maybe you should ask the dance school if they would let you take single lessons, like a 1-on-1. Its secluded, and if you dont quite understand it then the teacher can help you. Just a thought...Hope you find an answer...

I just started beginner ballet classes (I'm 29) and I found them at a community center. If the studios don't have adult classes, perhaps you could get them to start a wish list (maybe if you have a small group of people that would like to take a class, they might start one up if everyone submits the best day of the week to join?). I also recommend looking at community colleges. They might have a dance class for credit or non-credit that you might get to audit. Oh, I just thought about gyms, possibly, or YMCAs - perhaps a ballet workout type of group fitness class where you could learn the basic techniques and steps before you join the high school class? Good luck! Ballet is so much fun and I really hope you can find a class! Best wishes.
