CRAZY ABOUT BALLET!!

hi my name is Lola,

Since I was very little I’ve always loved ballet but I could never be alowed to do it. Now I am 15 my mum got me lessons at a local ballet place but it is only half an hour a week!

I really want to be a professional. I’d be willing to do anything! but I cant get any more lessons! I’m a complete beginner but I’m working on my flexibility at home and I’m very musular and toned because I sprint.

I would love some help because I feel this is my passion but I dont think I started early enough

  1. Talk to your mum about it and see why she doesn’t want you to do ballet, explain to her why you like it so much and ask if you can do more classes. Practicing at home as well as working on flexibility is a good idea and if you can afford it, the ballet bible is a good investment especially for beginners. good luck!!!!

  2. ^^ I agree with everything Ashley said. If you want to go pro,You’ll have to work realllyyyy hard. And please everyone, learn to say hour-and-a-half. Not half an hour. There isn’t such thing as a thirty minute ballet class…at least I sure hope not. But yes talk to your mum,and if she can’t afford it,talk to the studio about doing things for free classes there. Like organizing papers, answering phones, copying things, getting teachers lunch and coffee, little things like that in exchange for classes. Good luck!

  3. If your mum really won’t let you get classes. Try teaching yourself through videos, dvds, books etc then perhaps your mum will really see how passionate you are.

  4. Martina,
good idea, but don’t drive your mum crazy about ballet or it could be off the list before you know it.
