Hi there Geane.
Your Teacher will be the best person to give you advice as to when you would be ready to begin pointe work. Your teacher should also be able to help you with pre-pointe exercises if you are not quite ready and be prepared to work along side you. There is quite a bit of criteria a young student should be able to achieve on a consistent level in order for pointe readiness. for example: should be able to execute 16 unassisted releves in the centre using correct technique. must be able to use correct turnout and placement at all times. upper and lower back strength etc. (do not be afraid though of this list as all your exercises at the barre and centre are already working towards this).
A full physiotherapist check is also recommended not only for the feet but suitability of the whole body for pointe work. they too will suggest where you can improve.

No-one can know without looking at your feet when you are ready, it all depends on your ankle strenght, there is no level or age where you should be starting pointe, you just start when your teacher who is trained in these matters feels you are ready, please don’t do anything stupid like buy pointes, or try to go en pointe too soon, you can seriously injure yourself.

i know how you feel about wanting to go on pointe. i’m the same way, but instead of just getting frustrated, channel that desire and energy to becoming perfect on flat, since good technique has a lot to do with starting pointe.
remember, your teacher has your health in mind…trust his/her decision. if your teacher says you’re not ready yet, chances are, you’re not.

A great exercise to strengthen your metatarsal area for pointe work is this: sitting on the floor with legs straight out in front of you, run a wide stretchy band behind your toes. Flex and stretch your toes only, stretching them pointed (not curled) against the resistance of the band. This is good for jumps also, as the toes are the last part of the foot to push off the floor. Also just practising pointing your feet a lot, like when you’re sitting watching tv, in sneakers, strengthens the foot and ankle because it’s hard to do! Resistance creates strength. Of course all of your general technique has to be strong for pointe work, so just keep working!

start to take class more than twice a week for starters…also, make sure that you’re doing your own arch, calf, and leg stretches/strengthening exercizes at home. this will help immensely when you get to class.
but it’s also very important to wait until you are older, for sake of your feet. i started when i was your age but had to come off of pointe for a year and a half because i developed bunions.
