a dancewear store should be able to accommodate for everyone's needs or at least be able to tell you what you should be looking for. Get properly fitted and tell them your problems and they should help you, otherwise go to another dance store where someone will actually give you advice

at first the point shoes will be stiff and not fit to the shape of your feet so you will need to soften them out. you can do this by squashing the hard tip of the shoe - this will also mean you will be able to go on demi-pointe more easily

This site has a good page on all the brands, do a search. Also, you need to start with a beginner shoe first.

well the pointe shoe needs to fit correctly for starters, your teacher can help you with that, or whoever will size you when you buy them. and how the shoe will work for you depends entirely on your feet, do you have a lot of arch or not much? things like that. its mostly been just trial and error for me.
