as long as you don’t have scoliosis your back is not necessarily bad. the issue is your posture. is your back isn’t straight, then your core muscles are unable to work properly.

Well, if by curvy back you mean swayback (you sink into your lower back and your bottom sticks out), no teacher will like it!! However, not liking it and telling you how to fix it are two different things. If you do have swayback, and not another condition, you have to concentrate on pulling up your lower stomach, and strengthening your abdominal muscles so as to gradually eliminate the swayback, which usually happens when the abdominals are weak and the lower back muscles are allowed to contract, pulling up the tailbone. Besides pilates, here is a simple exercise to start helping: lie on the floor, with your knees drawn half way up, feet flat on the floor. Think of pulling your tummy muscles towards your spine, and pull your lower spine gently towards the floor so that you eliminate the space between the floor and your back. Hold that for ten seconds, and repeat several times (about ten at first), every day.

a curvy back means your quite flexible which in the long run is good but you just need to be able to control your posture
