Discover the Secrets to Conquering Some of The Most Common Pitfalls You Face When Learning Ballet
Leg DeveloppesDoes anyone know of any excersises that would help me get higher leg lifts? I’m just over 90 degrees in my right leg and about 90 degrees in my left. I’ve seen girls who have such nice high extensions and I’m getting a little frustrated. I don’t want to bulk up my legs by practicing them constantly, but how else will I get better? Any tips? Thanks! 10 Comments »RSS feed for comments on this post. TrackBack URI Leave a comment |

I wouldn’t worry about bulking your legs. That probably won’t happen without eating a lot, and doing a lot of weighted exercises. It’s just the weight of your leg, don’t worry about it.
Even supposing it did bulk up, it would be worth it. Once you got a high RoM you are satisfied with, you wouldn’t need to practise as much, and go back to normal.
Besides, RoM is more important than being petite.

It could be that you’re gripping with your quad instead of under your thigh. If you use your quad to lift your leg, it’s next to impossible to get over 90 degrees because your flexed quad is in the way.Try turning out more to access the muscle under your thigh.

just make sure you stretch a lot!! it’s important that a beginner gets used to using the right muscles, for developpe make sure you use you thigh. And just keep PRACTICING! Im on my 10th year and still don’t have very high extensions!
