everyone’s body is not quite symmetrical. most people do everything slightly better on one side, turns, adage, the splits, and point work. just try to always use your feet equally so that you don’t become more one sided.
My daughter has just started pointe and has similar problems, being much stronger on one leg than the other, so much so that st first she couldn;t even get up on pointe on the weaker leg, she has now found that when she goes up on pointe that it is difficult to straighten the stronger leg ,solution, practice going up on weaker leg first , this seems to have helped , persevere, my daughter has and as she has other physical problems just attemting point was a major achievment ,but is now slowly improving , good luck
im exactly the same! i can hardly stand on one foot but i can do an arabesque on the other! its getting better though, im doing basically what anita has said. it works. just persevere.
Everyone has a stronger side, not just on their feet but also with their hand. It’s not noticeable to everyone, but it’s genetics. It’s always your dominant hand. If you were born left-handed but switch to be right handed, you probably have a natural tendency to be stronger on your left. Now, sometimes the strength differs depending on whether you use your strong leg as your standing leg or not. Just make sure to give equal attention and strength training to both sides. People get used to designating a gesture and standing leg. Avoid developing that habit
I guess we have the sme problem… but i guess we just have to work hard… I always do releves on my left to strengten my ankles…
My left foot is more arched than my right, and I can pointe it harder. Also, I can balence on it longer. I don’t think that it really matters, but it’s making it harder for me to perfect both of my pirrouettes
I have the same problem as you sophie, but on my right food, my right food is achef more so i look lopsided on pointw i dony know what i can do to correct this, i think i sprained my right ankle a few times but not my left, would this have anything to do with it? I try to practice more on my left to strengthen it, however my toes hurt up on pointe on my left foot :s
