The Correct foot shape for Pointe ShoesI want to go on pointe one day but I’m not sure if my feet will be a problem. I have long, tapered toes and my second toe is longer than all the others. Would I be able to go onto pointe with this type of foot? (This is only a question about foot shape, I understand the whole issue of strength and all that) August 20, 2006 | In Questions |3 Comments »RSS feed for comments on this post. You will still be able to go on pointe.
There are many different shapes of pointe shoe so make sure you buy your shoes from an experienced fitter.
I have the same type of feet and you just have to find the right shoe for you!

you may also want to use extra padding over your shorter toes to more evenly disperse the weight. you can make padding yourself, lambswool works for some peole, or some pediatrists specialize in dancers’ feet and can make special pads designed for your feet.

I have the same problem, my toes are so long and skinny they look like skeleton bones and my second toe (and third) are longer than the first, but do not worry there are pointe shoes for every type of foot!
