What are the benefits of ballet on your muscles and joints?

What muscle groups are strengthened and which joints are made more flexible as a result of ballet?

  1. There are many muscle groups that are strengthened through ballet. The main ones are:
    - Abdominals
    - Legs eg. quadriceps, hamstrings, calves
    - Upper arms
    - Upper back

    The main joints that will have increased flexibility will be the hips & ankles.

  2. When i started dancing again, i found that muscles hurt that i didn’t even know existed! It is fantastic for the legs and great for the posture and good just about everywhere in the body. Ballet uses so many different muscles

  3. its real good for your calves inner and outer thighs and ankles ballet especcialy strenghtens your ankles
