The Ballet Companion is an amazing book. It covers everything and depicts dancers executing the steps. I say you choose the Ballet Companion!

i think the ballet companion is (in a way) more helpful. it not only tells you about the techniques, but also other dance related problems/issues eg. eating disorder, dealing with the mirror, puberty etc.

Actually, I have both, but I like the Ballet Bible more.
The Davies' book looks great, but I feel it only scratches the surface of the
subject covered.
If the book is meant for teenagers or younger students, it might
inspire them and learn them new things, but for an adult reader I feel
it is more eye-candy than anything else.
Since the book isn't clearly advertised as a young-readers book, I'm not
sure this is the case.
As for the content of the book, I must say I like some of the
metaphors used in the text (the shoelaces, the pressure used to
make diamonds) but I feel it lacks subtlety and nuance and might be
misunderstood.
As a teacher (not dance) myself I am a firm believer in the Vygotskyan
idea of the zone of proximal development and I think it is indeed
vital to improve, to push students (as a teacher) or to push yourself
(as a learner) further all the time, but you can also push too hard
and people are not diamonds, they break under too much pressure. In an
already demanding world as the dance world, putting the pressure on
without a safety valve (which I didn't find in the volume I read) is
not something I would advocate.

I think that the ballet bible is more helpful than the ballet companion (I have both) but I don't have think like a champion, dance like a star. The ballet bible takes you through everything whereas the ballet companion doesn't. The videos on the ballet bible are so helpful and that isn't something you can get from a book. I really like both but I think the ballet bible is most helpful.

Definitely the Ballet Bible. While Grant Davies' book is awesome and motivating, it's not exactly helpful in technique and stuff, which is what the Bible Bible does. :)

Of course I am biased... but I would say each product is beneficial. They are all different.

The ballet companion is quite good. I have it myself. It has good examples and pictures. I would think eliza would be doing quite well from it as she is basically a celebrity in the ballet world and able to get strong endorsements. Either way it's a good read.

Think Like a champion, Dance like a star is an excellent book to encourage and motivate any dancer. It doesn't focus on technique but has some really cool pictures. I highly recommend this book and I personally know Grant Davies. He is an awesome guy.

The Ballet Bible package is my own product. It focuses on helping any student to improve their technique and reach new levels that wouldn't be possible on their own. I have tried to make this product different to a typical ballet book in that I show how NOT to do movements and tell you WHY. Also the new version includes video demonstration and audio terms software.

I think it's best not to limit your options to just one thing. Each of these guides is good and you will get a lot out of them.

If you choose to purchase the Ballet Bible Package then I look forward to working with you to accelerate your improvement.

All the best in your decision.
